I had a reader who thought DFT led to our future being foreordained. Personally, I doubt that the future is foreordained. But let's look at the issue from a DFT point of view.
I think universal Consciousness is nurtured only by the Consciousness of individual entities. Entities, at least on earth, are creatures of emotion, love, hate, empathy, self-pity, etc. Some lead to cohesion and meaningfulness, while some lead to chaos. We are placed, by choice or by chance, into multiple entities along the timeline where we are offered the opportunity to nurture and grow our Consciousness of what we are in the Universe or to indulge ourselves in our own needs merely. Again, the first leads to a point where we "escape" this 3D world and can view the reality of the 3D world from the viewpoint of a 4D entity.
I often use an example of a 2D person from Flatland and how his/her view would differ from that of a 3D person. It’s an interesting mind game. Makes one wonder how our viewpoint differs from that of a 4D entity. A 4D viewpoint may be that if you, as a 3D entity, were engaged in harmonic supportive non-chaotic activities, you are a 4D entity. The fact that you remain in a 3D world through many lifetimes perhaps points to the fact that you are not. Time is not non-existent in the 4D world. It is viewed in a completely different way. I don’t know how, but it stands to reason and is one of the areas in which I am developing material that may or may not support it. I am not trying to create what I think the 4D entity is like or what kind of a world he/she/it may live in. I haven’t the slightest idea. I am just exploring various possibilities and seeing where they go. I know where I would like them to go, but I am attempting to avoid influencing my research with this as much as possible.
One interesting line of thought is based on string theory, which states that everything, life itself, is a combination of vibrating waves, the frequency of which determines the physical characteristics of atoms. There seems to be some indication that this theory could explain that the change of an atom in one location of the universe will be accompanied by the change in the atom millions of light years away. DFT provides a pathway for the development of the theory. But the important point here is frequency. On the human level, harmony is a central theme of happiness. To live in harmony equals peacefulness and fulfillment. A disharmonous person is someone with whom one does not want to associate.
You may argue, "But what about war? Many of our great inventions have been created thanks to the event or threat of war!" This is true. War has often created the need for such things, and much good has come from such inventions, along with destruction, pain, and chaos.
Natural disasters, ranging from exploding volcanoes to hurricanes and forest fires, are all seemingly chaotic, but are they? Could it not be argued that they are evidence of nature’s inherent movement? On the one hand, they are destructive, but they also bring new life and rejuvenation. From a single point in time, any particular event may seem chaotic, but when viewed from a more detached standpoint, each event plays a harmonic role in the history of a planet. By extrapolation, we can say the same about human life. We all experience ups and downs. Each can be a lesson to be learned from. Many of the more chaotic things that occur in our lives are due to the lack of insight, patience, and empathy for the people we are dealing with.
Getting back to DFT, just as the frequency of strings in string theory are the underlying structure of all that is, it is the harmony between strings that binds the Universe together. It is the harmony on which Consciousness is based. DFT postulates that one without the other is impossible.
The lack of harmony, namely Chaos, destroys the foundations of the Universe and Consciousness. If this is so, anything chaotic is to be avoided, and anything harmonic should be protected and strived for.
So what is your position? Does DFT support things being preordained or not? Or is has the issue yet to be decided?
